Disposable Batteries
Numed recommends using good-quality Alkaline Batteries with your equipment. Rather than Carbon Zinc battery types, as this type does not last very long in the equipment. Also, Carbon Zinc batteries tend to leak, which corrodes the battery contacts & components inside your device. When used with the Mobil-o-Graph ABPM Carbon Zinc batteries, they cannot handle the power needed from the internal pump, which would cause low battery warnings or make the unit power off.
Rechargeable Batteries
If your device allows rechargeable batteries (see list below), then Numed recommends using 2300 mAh Ni-Mh (Nickel-Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries for use. It is also recommended not to mix different battery brands and types within a device. Doing so will reduce overall performance and may also cause battery leakage or rupture. We recommend using the same brand, type and batch of batteries within a device.
Please note - Rechargeable batteries are likely to degrade over time. If you are frequently experiencing errors with freshly charged batteries they may need to be replaced.
Battery Voltages
Disposable - 2 x 1.5 V alkaline batteries
Rechargeable - 2x Ni-MH power packs, each 1.2 V and min. 1500mAh (AA, Mignon)
Device Compatibility with Rechargeable Batteries
Mobil-o-Graph ABPM devices – will work with
rechargeable batteries, ensuring that the batteries are fully charged.
SpiroConnect – do not use rechargeable
batteries with this unit as they may cause performance issues with the
software.
CardioScan Holters – will work with
rechargeable batteries, however, they will discharge faster than alkaline
disposable batteries so would only recommend using them for 24-hour
recordings.
