The Text Replacements feature allows you to change any call announcement text or speech that comes from the clinical system to a different word or phrase. This feature is especially useful if you use abbreviations in the clinical system for room names, a clinician or patient is known by a different name than how it appears in the clinical system, or if using the text-to-speech feature, the spoken name doesn't come out correctly. 

You can access the Text Replacements from the menu at the top of the Patient call webpage.

When setting up a text replacement, in the Find column, you put the text that comes from the clinical system, then in the Replace with column, you put the text you wish to go on the call announcement as it appears on the screen. You can choose to apply to just text, just audio or put a tick in both. If you want to test how the speech will handle, click Save once done. 

If you want to test how the text-to-speech will sound with a Text replacement, then enter the text as it would appear from the clinical system in the left-hand box and click Test. You can also click Say out loud to hear it spoken on your PC.
