CardioScan User Guide - Downloading Results (Basic Guide)

This guide will show you how to download the results from your CardioScan Holter. Then produce a report that includes the detected events and the events from when the patient pressed the event key on the device. 

Warning
Once you have removed the battery from the CardioScan Holter, do not reinsert the battery before you've downloaded the results, as this will wipe the device memory. 

  1. Remove the battery from the Holter before disconnecting the patient from the device and leads.
  2. Plug the dongle into a spare USB slot on the PC.
  3. Plug the Holter recorder into the light grey download cable. Please note that the recorder will have a solid green LED light.
  4. Open the CardioScan software using the icon on the desktop.
  5. Click on New Patient
  6. The software will auto-detect your patient information, then click .
  7. The software will read from the Holter and analyse the data. 
  8. Click OK – you can now safely disconnect your Holter from the PC.
  9. On Data Access Choices, click on ECG Strip.
  10. Hover your mouse towards the bottom left hand 3rd of the screen, 3 buttons will appear, you need to click Save Events.
  11. Select 3 ECG Strip
  12. The box on right hand side will now populate with the significant events the software has detected. 
  13. If your patient had pressed the Event key at any point while wearing the device, the time of the Event will be shown in the Patient Diary Event on the left-hand side.
  14. If you double-click on the Event, you will then be able to change it from Event to the symptoms experienced that the patient wrote in their diary form. 
  15. To add the Event onto the ECG Strips, you will need to ensure that the Event is selected, then click .
  16. You will then see the Event at the bottom of the list of strips. 
  17. Click .
  18. On Data Access Choices, click Report.
  19. Choose what pages you require in the report on the left-hand side. 
  20. Please note that the choice of these pages is up to the clinical requirements of your service. 
  21. To print a paper copy or to print using a Windows PDF printer, click  in the top right-hand corner. 
  22. To produce a PDF version within the CardioScan software, click .
  23. Ensure Color is selected.
  24. Click the PDF File button, then Create PDF File. 
  25. Ensure you select the PDF file path and then click Export.
  26. Choose where to save your file and click Save.
  27. Click OK.
  28. You have now generated and exported the Holter Report ready for review.
