DMS CardioScan Installation Guide
The guide is aimed at IT professionals and will show you how to install and configure DMS CardioScan on a PC.
Before installing the software, please ensure you have the CardioScan software dongle, CardioScan Holter without a battery inserted, download cable, and hook-up (isolation) cable (if using) to hand. If you are installing this on Windows 11, you will need to have Core Isolation turned off.
Installation of CardioScan Software.
- Download and extract https://downloads.numed.co.uk/software/DMSCardioscan/CardioScanInstall.zip; the files in this zipped folder are numbered to help with installing in the correct order.
- Run 1 - HaspUserSetup.exe, then click Next.

- Accept the license agreement and click Next.

- Click Next

- Click Finish

- Run 2 - CardioScanInstall.exe, then click Step 2 – CardioScan Premier+ Setup. Do not click Step 1 as it is not compatible with Windows 10/11.

- Click OK

- Click Next

- Ensure that the User Name and Organisation are populated, and if blank, enter the required information, then confirm that you are installing for all users and click Next.

- Select Typical Setup and click Next.

- Click Finish

- Click on Step 3 – CardioScan Premier+ Patch and then click OK.

- Click Unzip, and once done, click Close.

- Select Step 4 (Optional) – CP210x Isolation Cable Drivers and click OK.

- Click Next

- Accept the license agreement and click Next.

- Click Next

- Click Install

- Make sure the tick box for Launch is ticked and click Finish.

- Click Install

- Click OK

- Close the CardioScan Premier+ window.
- Run 3 - CurrentPatch.exe. Click Unzip, then click Close.

- Run 4 - HolterRecorderDriver.exe and click Unzip.

Configuring the download cable drivers.
- Plug the dongle into the PC and confirm in Device Manager that it is working.

- Ensure that the Holter recorder does not have a battery, then insert the download cable into the Holter recorder and plug it into the PC.
- In Device Manager, locate the unknown device.

- Right-click on the Unknown device and select Update driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers.

- Using Browse, set the Search for drivers in this location as below, then click Next.

- Click Close

- Right-click on the USB Sample device and select Update driver.

- Choose Browse my computer for drivers.

- Make sure the file path is still set correctly, then click Next.

- Click Close

- Check the device manager to ensure the cable is showing in USBI/OControlledDevices

- Now you can safely unplug the download cable from the PC, and if using, plug in the Hookup cable (Isolation Cable) into the PC, check the Ports in the device manager and make a note of the COM number.

Configuring the CardioScan software
- Ensure that the software dongle is still inserted in the PC, and Launch CardioScan from the desktop and then click System Setting.

- Please note that the configuration shown in the steps below is our recommended defaults; they can be adjusted if clinically required by your service.
Set Basic Parameter as below, for the Default ECG Strip, see step 4.

- For the Default ECG Strip, when you set it to ON, the box below appears, click Default and then click OK.

- Facility Information: Please use the site name and address.

- Other A

- Other B - the Monitor Port is the COM number for the Hook-up (isolation cable) we plugged into the PC. For the ECG Strip Sorting, please see step 9

- For ECG Strip Sorting, turning it on allows you to set the order for the strips. We recommend the following, which can be set with the up and down arrows. Click Sorting Save once done.

- Click OK to exit the System Settings.
