SpiroConnect Filing Problems
Some of the most common issues with SpiroConnect filing are down to either a label printer being set as the default or the PC's temp folder being too large. This can result in either I3 getting a filing error or the PDF report is spread across too many pages and not showing all the required details.
Default Printer Issue
The PDF export from SpiroConnect Data Manager gets its page sizing from the PC's default printer. To change the default printer on the PC, follow the steps below.
Please be aware that this setting could impact other programs that use the default printer. If you make this change, ensure that other applications use the correct printer.
- Open the Start Menu
and type printers & scanners into the search bar, then click Open.

- First, ensure that the option Allow Windows to manage my default printer is turned off.

- You will notice that the label printer is currently the default

- Now select the A4 paper printer in use by the PC (my example is the Microsoft Print to PDF)

- Click Set as default.

- Now, try to re-export the spirometry results by running the software normally and clicking the Mark for I3 Export from the Examination screen.

If the above doesn't work, move on to deleting the temp files.
Deleting Temp files from the PC
SpiroConnect Data Manager uses the PC temp folder while running the exam and generating the PDF report. If the folder gets too full, the software struggles or times out when exporting the examination. Use the information below to clear the temp folder.
Deleting temp files will not affect how things work on your PC.
- Press on the keyboard Windows+R
- In the Run box, type %temp%

- Use CTRL+A to select all the files.
- Use SHIFT+Delete to permanently delete the files from the PC, then click Yes to confirm

- If any errors pop up during this process, put a tick in Do this for all current items and then click Skip (this error may pop up more than once).

Once the files have been deleted, try exporting the spirometry exam again.
