GE MAC 600 ECG Machine Patient Leads

GE MAC 600 ECG Machine Patient Leads

If you're experiencing ECG quality issues with your MAC 600 machine, one common cause could be the patient lead connection. Ensuring the leads are properly inserted is essential for accurate readings and reliable device performance.

Location of the patient's lead port

The patient lead must be inserted into Slot A on the side of the machine. The connector is designed to fit only one way—note the angled upper corners that guide correct orientation. The connection should feel snug once fully inserted.

Incorrectly inserted patient lead

If the lead is not fully inserted, you may notice a visible centre bump on the connector. This indicates an improper connection and can lead to inaccurate ECG results.A close-up of a blue arrowDescription automatically generated

If the cable has been incorrectly inserted, over time, this can cause damage to the metal surround.

Damaged metal surround - A worn or bent metal surround can interfere with proper connection
Good metal surround - A clean, undamaged surround ensures a secure, accurate connection.
