How to apply a temporary fix to allow the Green BP monitor download cable to work.

There is currently a delay in the supply chain affecting our ability to supply replacement cables as usual.  As a temporary solution we have been provided with an updated piece of software that will let you continue using the green cable with Windows 11.

Unfortunately, the solution does mean once the update is applied you can’t remove the download cable from the PC or use it in multiple rooms.  There can also be issues with Windows updates that will stop the device working again.  If this happens the fix will need to be applied again.

We recognise that this won’t be ideal or suitable if the device is used in multiple rooms, and means the device may not be as reliable as expected. This will however help you maintain your ambulatory BP monitoring for patients until your blue cables can be provided.

Please follow the guide below or follow the video guide on YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j75wj7ZUgjQ

To download the updated driver file please click here:

To complete the update you will need to get "admin rights" which may require contacting your IT team.  They can perhaps also help updating the driver if needed.
  1. Extract the downloaded driver to a location on your PC, it may be easiest to use your desktop for this.
  1. This folder will be needed later.  Click your start button and type in computer management.  Then ensure you click "Run as administrator"

  1. This is where you will be prompted for "admin rights"
  2. In Computer Management, click "Device Manager" and then expand or double click Ports
  1. Right click the entry shown, this is your green cable with the incompatible driver.
  2. Choose properties and go to the Driver tab.
  3. Choose Update Driver
  1. Choose Browse my computer for drivers
  2. Choose Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
  3. Choose Have Disk
  4. Choose Browse and browse to the location where you extracted the downloaded file earlier.
  5. Choose the folder called Updated Green Cable Driver, then choose Updated Driver
  6. Highlight the file called SER2PL_1.inf
  7. Click open, then click OK and then click Next
  8. After a moment the driver will update and you can click close.
  9. The screen will now show Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (Com#) for you, make a note of the number at the end of this description.
  10. Click close and close computer management.
  11. Your cable will now work, it may need adding into the port settings in the BP software, if you don't have the BP device available you can add the device in the software, ensure you choose the com port number noted earlier.
If you still have any issues please contact the support team or email support@numed.co.uk to arrange a time for us to investigate.
