Smart Universal Installation Guide without Integration

If you are using the Smart Universal ECG system with EMIS web, SystmOne or Vision, please go to the Universal USB / Smart Universal ECG system with Integration Installation Guide.

This guide will show you how to install and configure CardioView v7 for use with the Smart Universal ECG system. If at any point the installer fails or you cannot access the CardioView settings run the 2 dependency installers in the zipped folder. If the PC is running Windows 11, download, extract and run https://downloads.numed.co.uk/Support/CardioViewTools/QRSDiagnosticDrivers.zip as this is the latest driver. 

  1. Download and extract https://downloads.numed.co.uk/software/qrs/Cardioview.zip  and Run as Administrator Cardioview 7 Installer.exe
  2. Click Install

  6. It will then launch into the driver installer, click Next

  8. Make sure that the BioPDF printer installer runs automatically – it should pop up and run with no interaction. It can take several minutes to complete.
  9. Click ECG Settings

  10. On the General Tab set the Measurement System to Metric

  11. On the Analysis Tab, some surgeries prefer to change the QTc Calculation to Fridericia. This is a clinical decision and we would recommend speaking with your GP or consultant if you are unsure. This will affect how the software measures QTc on the reports. Bazett is the default but older calculation, some clinicians prefer Fridericia which is the newer method.

  12. Check the highlighted parts, the power filter must be set to 50 Hz for UK and European use, then click OK

  13. Click OK
  14. Click Print Settings

You are now ready to test and use the ECG machine.
