SpiroConnect without Integration User Guide

To use your SpiroConnect without any link to a clinical system, or if your clinical system is down for any reason, follow the steps below to use your SpiroConnect spirometer.
  1. Insert the serial-numbered dongle into a spare USB port on the PC.
  2. Insert a mouthpiece onto the SpiroConnect device.
  3. Open SpiroConnect Data Manager from the desktop.

  4. Click Select Patient. 
  5. Click  in the bottom left-hand corner. 
  6. Fill out the form with the patient information; the fields ringed in red are compulsory.
  7. Power on the SpiroConnect by pressing the green button located on the top of the device and wait for the connected message to appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the software. 
  8. If you are performing both relaxed and forced spirometry, click the Relaxed Spirometry button. If you are performing forced spirometry only, click the  Forced Spirometry button.
  9. Click 
    1. If performing relaxed spirometry, go to step 10.
    2. If performing forced spirometry, only go to step 14.
  10. Instruct your patient to perform their first relaxed blow.
  11. If the quality of the blow is acceptable, select  and repeat step 10. If the blow is of unacceptable quality, select  and complete the blow once more. A minimum of three blows of acceptable quality attempts would normally be performed. 
  12. Once the blows have been completed, click the  button in the bottom right corner.
  13. Click  in the bottom left-hand side to begin your forced blows. 
  14. Instruct your patient to perform their first forced blow.
  15. If the quality of the blow is acceptable, select  and repeat step 14. If the blow is of unacceptable quality, select  and complete the blow once more. A minimum of three blows of acceptable quality attempts would normally be performed. 
  16. Once the blows have been completed, click the  button in the bottom right corner.
  17. If you are only performing baseline testing, move to the next step. If you are performing reversibility with post-bronchodilator testing, skip to step 19.
  18. As the examination is now complete, you can either print a paper report, export the report as either a PDF or an Excel file. 
  19. To perform your post BD tests, choose the relevant Add post 1 button for the first set of tests you wish to perform
  20. Instruct your patient to perform their first post BD blow.
  21. If the quality of the blow is acceptable, select  and repeat step 10. If the blow is of unacceptable quality, select  and complete the blow once more. A minimum of three blows of acceptable quality attempts would normally be performed. 
  22. Once the blows have been completed, click the  button in the bottom right corner.
  23. If you have just performed Post 1 (Relaxed) blows, repeat steps 19 to 22 for .
  24. As the examination is now complete, you can either print a paper report, export the report as either a PDF or an Excel file.
