When the patient call is being set up with either TPP SystmOne or Vision clinical systems, the system needs to be physically attached to a PC within the surgery - typically the Gateway PC (SystmOne only) or a reception PC (SystmOne or Vision). The USB cable connecting the call system to the PC requires a driver to be installed.
- Download https://downloads.numed.co.uk/Support/EnvisageTools/UC232A.exe
- Run as an Administrator the downloaded file UC232A.exe.
- Running as an Administrator requires a Windows admin account, which, if you do not have, you will need to speak with your IT department.
- Ensure English is selected and click Next

- Click Next

- Click Install

- Click Finish

Assemble the connection cable by connecting the USB to serial adapter to either side of the serial adapter, ensuring that you screw everything down.
- Connect the assembled cable to the Patient Call to the PC using the supplied cable.

- Open the Start Menu
and type Bluetooth into the search bar, then click Open on Bluetooth and other devices settings.

- Under Other devices, locate the ATEN USB to Serial Bridge and make a note of the COM number

- In my example, the COM number is COM 16, but on your PC, this may be different.
You can now configure your clinical system to work with the patient call.
