MAC 600 ECG Machine SD card Transfer with Integration User Guide

To use your GE MAC 600 ECG machine and transfer the results back to the clinical system using the SD card, please follow the steps below. 

Acquiring an ECG

  1. Connect the patient leads to the MAC 600 ECG system, ensuring that they are correctly oriented and fully inserted. Refer to GE MAC 600 ECG Machine Patient Leads for further details. 

  2. Power on the device.
     
  3. Press the ‘F1’ key to access the patient details screen.

  4. Enter your patient’s details using the keypad and arrow pad. To confirm the details, press the white circle which is located in the centre of the arrow pad.
    1. Note: The patient ID for EMIS web can be the EMIS number or NHS number, depending on configuration; TPP SystmOne and Vision use the NHS or CHI number.

  5. To check the quality of your ECG, use the trace indicator, located at the top right of the screen.
    1. Note: Green symbolises good connectivity with the patient. Orange symbolises poor quality due to interference or poor connection to the patient, and Red indicates possible lead disconnections.

  6. To capture your ECG trace, press the green ‘ECG acquisition’ button. 

  7. If the captured ECG meets your requirements, press the ‘F3’ button to store the ECG on the SD card. 

    1. Note: If you would like to print your ECG report, press the ‘F1’ button. 
  8. Power off the system and remove the lead wires from the patient. 
  9. You can save multiple patients' ECGs on the machine before downloading if required. 

 Printing a 3-lead rhythm strip

To print out a 3-lead rhythm strip, first hook up your patient as normal, then press  which is below the green button; it will keep printing until you press . Which is below the white button. 

Downloading the Results

  1. Locate and remove the SD card that is plugged into the back of the MAC 600 ECG system.
  2. Connect the card reader to your PC (if it is not already connected) and place the SD card into the corresponding slot.
  3. Double-click the I3 icon, which is usually found on your taskbar or desktop. This will launch the I3 software. 

    1. For Vision Hosted and Aeros sites, the Numed Enterprise Link software is running on the remote desktop. 
  4. Click the Start button.
  5. Select ‘ECG’ - if you have more than one ECG system, you may need to select ‘MAC PDF filer’ 

  6. You will then be presented with a list of ECGs that are ready to be uploaded to the patient’s medical record. ECGs that match the currently selected patient within the clinical system will be automatically selected.

  7. Selected items will be automatically transferred. If you do not wish to upload a particular ECG, deselect the item you wish to exclude. When you are ready, transfer the results and click ‘Send’. 
  8. A confirmation message will be displayed when the ECG (s) have been successfully uploaded to the patient’s medical record. Click ‘OK’ to complete the process.

How to delete the ECGs from your machine

  1. Power on the MAC 600 ECG system.
  2. Access File Manager by pressing ‘F4’ for More and then ‘F3’ for File Manager.

  3. Once File Manager has loaded, press ‘F2’ to select all ECGs.

  4. Press ‘F4’ to access more options and then ‘F1’ to delete.

  5.  You will be prompted to enter your system password. Use the keypad to enter your password and then submit using the white circle in the middle of the arrow pad.

    1. The default password is either ‘1111’ or ‘11112222’ if you purchased your system from April 2023
  6. You will receive a final warning message. Press ‘F2’ to accept this. This has now deleted the contents of your SD card.
