Please check EMIS Web is open

If you encounter the error box with the “Please check EMIS Web is open” message, please follow the steps in the order outlined below. Please go to How to minimise Check EMIS Web is Open errors for tips and guidance on avoiding this issue from occurring.
  1. Close down all open sessions of the EMIS web, including any that may have stopped responding. Then launch the EMIS web and try again with the I3 software once you have your consultation open.
  2. If the above still causes the error, then there could be multiple users logged into the PC (i.e. a colleague was logged in earlier today or didn’t log off when leaving last night). The simplest solution to this will be to fully restart the computer; this needs to be a restart, not just logging out and back in.
    1. If you want to check if other users are logged in, please see the guide at the end of this page.
  3.  If this hasn’t resolved the issue, the cause of the problem could be your access permissions within EMIS. This is likely if you are a new member of staff and haven’t used i3 before. You will need to check the EMAS manager in EMIS Web to ensure that your user account has the correct permissions to use the relevant I3 module. This can only be accessed by practice managers or other senior-level users with access to the EMIS web. For further information on the EMAS manager settings, please go to How to configure EMAS Manager for I3.
  4. If, after all of the above, you are still getting the Please check EMIS web is open error, please contact Numed support via https://www.numed.co.uk/support or by calling 0114 399 0010 for assistance.
